Chipper Jones has battled constant nagging injuries over the last three or four years, but he is still one of the best hitters in the Atlanta Braves lineup when healthy. Jones started slow and dealt with some injuries last season, but still managed to hit for a .275 batting average, which is below average for him. Chipper got his power stroke going around mid-season and finished the year with 18 home runs and 70 RBI’s.
It’s very important for Jones to be in the lineup for the Braves; just his presence helps the team, but he’s also one of the best flat out hitters I’ve ever seen. Everyone knows that Chipper Jones isn’t the same player he used to be, but he can help this team greatly if he can stay healthy and get on base.
